An exemplary energy renovation and elevation project
Located in a residential area in the heart of Lausanne, the “Monribeau” project exemplifies an ambitious and respectful approach to the environment, combining global energy renovation and the construction of elevated housing.
Designed to meet Minergie® standards, the project targets a 45% reduction in the building’s energy consumption as well as greater comfort for the residents, all while adding value to the existing portfolio.

There have been many procedures in the context of this project:
- Conformity with electric and fire security requirements,
- Humidity sensitive ventilation with heat recovery,
- Facade insulation, replacement of windows and upgrading of lifts,
- Renovation of kitchens and bathrooms,
- Creation of new elevated housing,
Special emphasis has been placed on accessibility, with access for people with reduced mobility.
Finding and managing tenants
Besides steering the project, SPG took over the rental management, which involved efficient marketing of the residential units and optimal service to new tenants.
A project initiated and managed by SPG
This project was initiated and managed by SPG and the project owner organised a closed architecture competition subject to invitation. The mandate was awarded to architectural bureau Burckhardt Architecture SA as well as a number of specialised engineering firms. It exemplifies the expertise of SPG for energy and environmental transformation aspects and the development of complex real estate projects at the core of the challenges facing urban regeneration.
To a responsible energy future
The “Monribeau” project makes an active contribution to the energy transition of the housing stock in Lausanne. It is based on structural decisions to move away from fossil fuels towards renewable energies:
Connection to Lausanne’s remote heating network,
Production of green electricity through the use of photovoltaic panels,
Full overhaul of sanitary and energy installations for more sustainable resource management.
