Marie Barbier-Mueller
Co-CEO


Co-CEO of Société Privée de Gérance (SPG) since January 2023, Marie Barbier-Mueller is distinguished by an entrepreneurial vision and a thirst for excellence.

With a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University and a Master’s in Environment and Development from King’s College, she combines expertise in business management with a passion for sustainable development.
After a stint at Solar Impulse between 2014 and 2015, she joined spg partner in Zurich in 2016, before joining SPG in 2018 at the invitation of her father, Thierry Barbier-Mueller.
Five years later, she co-managed the company alongside her sister Valentine Barbier-Mueller, in addition to serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors. She is active on the boards of SPG’s two subsidiaries, SPG One and Prorenova.


Marie is a co-founder of the Swiss Chapter of the Family Business Network (FBN), reflecting her commitment to promoting family businesses in Switzerland. She is a member of the ForPro Foundation Board, as she shares the charity’s objectives of supporting vocational training. She also sits on the Economic Council of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG). In honour of her family heritage, along with her sisters and cousins, she co-founded Les Muses BM, a jewellery brand inspired by the unique ethnic pieces in the collection of the family museum.


The mother of three young boys, Marie attaches great importance to balancing her professional and personal life, finding inspiration in reading, cooking, travelling and sport.

Valentine Barbier-Mueller
Co-CEO


Co-CEO of Société Privée de Gérance (SPG) since January 2023, Valentine Barbier-Mueller epitomises a bold, modern vision of family entrepreneurship.

A graduate of King’s College London with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Film Studies, Valentine completed her studies with a Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona.
She began her career at Solar Impulse before becoming the Community Manager at Codementor, where she honed her skills in Mandarin Chinese and international community management.
Recognised for her strategic vision, Valentine joined the SPG management team in 2019 at the invitation of her father, Thierry Barbier-Mueller. Four years later, she co-managed the company with her sister Marie Barbier-Mueller.

A member of the SPG Board of Directors, she is also active on the boards of SPG’s two subsidiaries, Prorenova and SPG One.
Committed to the health of the Genevan economy, she sits on the Board of Directors of Banque Raiffeisen Villes et Vignobles genevois.
As vice-president of Family Business Network (FBN) International’s Next Generation (NxG) Leadership Team, she has supported a new generation of family entrepreneurs.
Passionate about the arts and culture, in 2016, along with her sisters and cousins, Valentine co-founded Les Muses BM, a jewellery brand inspired by ethnic pieces in the collection of the family museum in Geneva.

As the mother of two young daughters, Valentine combines her professional and personal life, drawing inspiration from reading, yoga, kitesurfing, film and travel, all of which enable her to approach her projects with a constantly renewed vision.
