SOLIDARITY
SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE supports mutual aid and cooperation projects meeting the needs of the destitute. This social role takes a prominent position in its Company Charter. According to a well-established tradition, it is strongly committed to specific campaigns, well-defined objectives, in direct contact with the people who manage the projects and those who benefit from them.
The social campaigns of SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE have diversified over time. To the traditional end-of-year greetings cards we have added active support of targeted projects in the fields of humanitarian and environmental aid. All in all, these steps comprise a 'topical solidarity', which is most certainly modest, if one considers the vast need, but warm and effective nevertheless.
2010 TOPICAL SOLIDARITY – This year SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE is supporting the following associations:
- ASDI, Association for Support of Integrated Development of Moudatt (Mali), association chosen for the 2010 greetings cards
In 2004, in the valley of Tilemsi, a region situated north-east of Mali, Mohamed Ag Hamma and Natascha Farenzena launched a mutual aid project with the aim of supporting the region's people, who are regularly affected by drought and famine. This humanitarian programme is based on setting up a community livestock of cows, enabling a family to have milk from a cow for a whole year, both for its own consumption and to make butter and cheese.
- The 'Coeur pour tous' association was founded in 1998 by a group of doctors, nurses and technicians to promote health in developing countries, and more particularly, treatment of cardiac diseases. At the University Hospitals of Geneva or on-site (Morocco, Serbia, Mozambique, etc.), it operates on a voluntary basis on children suffering from cardio-vascular diseases, which enables them to heal and lead a normal life again.
- The François-Xavier Bagnoud association has the aim of fighting poverty and AIDS in developing countries. It particularly supports orphans and children left behind in the wake of the pandemic. SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE is committed to helping it realise a very specific objective – the construction of 11 wells in Rwanda, providing children with an essential resource – unfortunately far too rare in Africa – of drinking water taps.
20 years of greetings cards
Twenty years ago, SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE had the idea of using the traditional greetings card, which all companies like to send at the end of the year to their customers and partners, to help a worthwhile cause. The principle is simple: each greetings card presents a social or humanitarian campaign and invites the recipient to contribute towards it, with SOCIETE PRIVEE DE GERANCE being the first contributor on the list of course. In this way the company not only provides its financial support, but also its capital of corporate and professional contacts and its power of circulation and communication.
